Wardrobe Stylist Shoot with MUMBI SHOKEY

What does a Wedding Photographer do when they are not shooting a wedding or globe-trotting? Well to start with, there is editing heaps upon heaps of photos, designing and printing photo books, researching and learning more about photography, meeting clients and eating… a lot, to mention but a few.

I addition to all of the above tasks, I have found a new hobby over the last one year and I am loving it. FASHION. Thanks to this hobby I now spend a minute or two in front of a mirror before I get out of the house, I try to match colors in my clothing and I get face scrubs at my barber :D. Enough said.

Welcome to a blog post that has nothing to do with nuptials. It is the first in a series of many more to come and I hope you will enjoy them. Just two days ago I met two ladies who are fashion bloggers and we hit it off instantly with them. I had carried my camera along and they dressed up and posed as I clicked away to this new challenge of fashion photography. It is so different from what I am used to shooting but it is something I enjoyed doing.

So today, one of those ladies is guest-blogging on the site. She is a student at Kenyatta University taking a BSC. in Public Health, a Wardrobe Stylist at K24  and a musician. Please  welcome Mumbi Shokey as she walks you through this post 🙂

My oh my Matt has  a way with words now doesn’t he?He’s just made me sound like a cool young 22-year-old who is out there grabbing all that life brings.Truly speaking though, that’s exactly what am doing.I thank God for great gifts and opportunities that He is bringing my way and even more my growing experience as a Wardrobe stylist. When Matt was doing this shoot we had so much fun I even wonder why we hadn’t worked together before!

Now today’s look is pretty casual. You know how you just wanna be simple and pull on a nice fitting pair of jeans and run errands? This is exactly the kind of pairing you want.Simple yet stylish. This confusing Kenyan weather just needs you to be warm enough but not too warm as if you live in the North pole.We have cold seasons,NOT winter!

The knee-high boots come in handy as they not only jazz up the look but also bring in a chic factor when paired with this Siren cropped sweater. When it gets abit warm which usually happens when 1300 hrs strikes, put on some nice sunnies and walk those streets like you own them!
